Description

Buildings are the major source of global demand for energy and materials that produce by-product greenhouse gases (GHG), the reason why the sustainability requirements for building design are becoming more stringent.

The problem of involving communities in a sustainable development of urban architecture has been much
discussed and our role as architects and consultants is significant. The purpose of this lecture is to analyze new strategies, tendencies and expectations that are driving the sustainability requirements and standards and how they are implemented in the building design. Professionals with different backgrounds will talk about Sustainability, Architecture and City, their experience with particular projects and future challenges and opportunities.
Sustainability can be a long journey with two steps forward and one back but we should always try to look toward the future, engage the community and address important issues on time.
